Mother and love of Allah

Allah has bless us with a chance to live in this life. This life is a miracle. This life is our chance to obtain the best life in the afterlife. We all have made a covenant with Allah before we were born in this world. That covenant is made while we were in the womb of our mother. For a mother, the pain of delivering a newborn baby is unimaginable. If you are there with her, and she is delivering your younger brother or sister, you would pray to Allah for her becoz there is nothing worse than looking at your own mother crying in agony.

We all know that taking care of a newborn baby is a hard job. Our mother would be so exhausted from the sleepless nights, just so that we, the newborn baby, would be in good condition. She would wake up from bed and worry about us. She would strive to feed us at our feeding time. And if we sneeze many times, our mother would wonder whether if we are healthy or sick. Only Allah knows the constant worry of her heart when she took care of us. All her energy are used mainly for us.

After all those pain for delivering you and taking care of you, she would surely want to see her own child becoming a good person. We are our mother's child. What we can at least do for our mother, is appreciating her by making the best of our life. Now what about Allah. Our soul and body belongs to Him. One day, we will meet Allah. If u want the best things in this life and in the afterlife, prove to Allah that His gifts will not be a waste. What is His gifts? His gifts is our whole body, our hearts. In order to purify our soul, we must purify our hearts by constantly remembering Allah in everything we do.

~Surah Al-Munafiqun verse 9~
“O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that then those are the losers.”

In this verse, Allah is reminding us, not to be too intact to this worldly matters to the point we lose our rememberance of Allah. Our main objective in this world is to worship Allah. So give your attention mostly to what matters most, that is Allah. The Prophet ﷺ, when asked about the excellence of faith or ihsan (good), said:

“It is to worship Allah as though you see Him, and though you do not see Him, you know that He sees you.” (Sahih Bukhari)

We need Allah in our everyday life. We need His mercy, guidance, blessings and protection. We are depending on Him. Our every acts should be to attain His pleasure. Our love to Allah should not be just at what He has done for us or what He has blessed us with, but our love to Allah should be unconditional. May Allah (swt) make us amongst “those who remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): “Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” ~Surah Al-Imran verse 191~

al-Halim

One of the names of Allah is al-Halim, which means ''The Forbearing''. But what is forbearing mean?. Have u ever skip doing homework and when your teacher knows about it and he lets it go. Instead of punishing you, he maintains his anger and kept patient. Well that is forbearing. Your teacher is letting you go with your mistake but his action does not mean that he does not have the strength to punish. The true strength of a man is when he is able to control his anger. Now what about our wrongs to Allah. We knew that He sees everything but we still do it everyday. Allah is All Powerful and yet He does not take immediate action to punish us for our wrongs. Instead, He is letting it go until to a speciafied term.

~Surah Fatir (verse 45)~
Dan kalaulah Allah mengirakan kesalahan manusia serta terus menyeksa mereka disebabkan amal-amal jahat yang mereka telah kerjakan, tentulah Dia tidak membiarkan tinggal di muka bumi sesuatu makhluk yang bergerak; akan tetapi (Dia tidak bertindak dengan serta-merta, bahkan) Dia memberi tempoh kepada mereka hingga ke suatu masa yang tertentu; kemudian apabila sampai tempoh mereka (maka Allah akan membalas masing-masing dengan adilnya), kerana sesungguhnya Allah sentiasa Melihat keadaan hamba-hambaNya.

We often do mistakes, but a good person will always assume that his mistake is a big mistake although when it look like a small mistake and appreciate the forbearance given for his mistake. Because he knows the importance of his action. And because if he does a mistake to his lover, that attitude will help him to always appear pleasant to his lover. Allah is Al-Halim. And we should never take for granted for His forbearance if we love Him.

Allah describes one of the characteristics of Ibrahim alaihissalam in the Quran;

~Surah at-Taubat (verse 114)~
Dan bukanlah istighfar Nabi Ibrahim bagi bapanya (dibuat) melainkan kerana adanya janji yang dijanjikan kepadanya dan apabila ternyata kepada Nabi Ibrahim bahawa bapanya musuh bagi Allah, dia pun berlepas diri daripadanya. Sesungguhnya Nabi Ibrahim itu lembut hati lagi penyabar.

Patience is half of iman, and a strong man is a man who can control his own anger. By practicing forbearance in ourselves, we will easily able to control our anger and practice our patience. May Allah make us of those who have forbearance, and of those who recognize Allah’s forbearance towards us, and to make that realization a means for us to return to Him. Ameen.
